The Journal of Sustainable Energy and Environment is a free, open access, peer-reviewed and double-blinded journal that publishes online original academic research and review articles quarterly.
About the JournalThe primary purpose of the journal is to provide researchers, scientists, academicians and students with a permanent record of achievements in the fields of energy and environment with a view towards sustainable development, particularly for Asian countries. Special issues devoted to important topics in science and technology will be published on an occasional basis. This journal is also designed to give an opportunity for those who attend the international conference on Sustainable Energy and Environment (SEE) to have their articles selected for publication according to the journal policy.
JSEE deals with scientific and innovative aspects related to energy technologies and environmental-related energy technologies. Energy technologies include several energy conversion processes (e.g. combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis of coal, petroleum oil, natural gas, waste, and biomass etc) renewable energy (e.g. wind, hydro, biomass, biofuel, and solar) and new energy conversion systems and processes (e.g. hydrogen/fuel cell, nuclear, and second generation synthetic fuels (e.g. GTL, BTL, and DME)). Also, energy system efficiencies, energy management (e.g. optimization, economic and pollution control) and energy policy are also included.
Environmental issues of interest are focused on addressing local, regional as well as global pollution from energy conversion with a view to sustainable development. Climate change is a major cross-cutting area where papers are invited along with strategic environmental assessment of energy conversion systems to support energy and environmental policy.
Energy conversion technology and its contribution to sustainable environment; Biomass and biofuels; Renewable and alternative energies; Hydrogen & Fuel cells; Synthetic fuels; Waste to energy; Nuclear energy
Energy system analysis and modeling; Energy in building
Energy and environmental policy and economics; Sustainability assessment of energy systems (heat, power and transportation fuels); Tools for supporting energy and environmental policy
Scientific inquiry into various components of the climate system; Atmospheric chemistry and modeling of agents related to energy conversion and management; Mitigation and adaptation to climate change and climate variability; Potential ecological, social, and economic implications of human-induced climatic changes; Climate feedback and response; Carbon capture, storage and sequestration
Emission management & analysis from energy related activities; Waste utilization for energy
Papers submitted to JSEE include review articles and original scientific research articles. These contributions are evaluated for publication by independent reviewers. These contributions should relate to the topics covered in JSEE. Editors reserve the right to require revisions of a submitted manuscript as a condition for final acceptance prior to or following a review process. JGSEE and the editorial board claim no responsibility for the contents or views expressed by the authors of individual articles.
This journal provides open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge and ideas. An electronic journal is provided on the website (https://www.jseejournal.com)

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
Manuscripts submitted to JSEE include review articles and original scientific research articles. Papers that have been published or under consideration elsewhere and/or copyrighted will not be considered for publication in JSEE. Where necessary, exceptions to this rule may be made when a particular manuscript has only appeared in conference proceedings with abstracts or has only had limited distribution. Authors of such manuscripts must report this issue in the submission process.
All manuscripts submitted for review must be written in English. Manuscripts should contain names, affiliations, e-mail addresses of all the authors, an abstract of no more than 250 words, and a list of not more than 5 keywords. Sections and sub-sections of the paper should be numbered serially. All figures and tables must have individual titles and appear where they fit most into the text material to which they refer. Materials published elsewhere and used in the manuscripts should be referenced rather than paraphrased or reproduced. Proofs, calculations and derivation that detail the flow of thought and reading should be placed in Appendix. References should be arranged in the main text using the numbering method of citation. They should be arranged in the list of references (numbers in square brackets) in the order in which they appear in the text. Only the references that are cited in the text should be added to the reference list. Authors should follow the referencing format provided in the journal template.
No publication charge of any kind is required for authors to publish their work in JSEE.
Authors who publish with JSEE agree to transfer all copyright rights in and to the above work to the journal's Editorial Board. This implies that JSEE’s Editorial Board will have the right to publish the work for nonprofit use in any media or form. In return, authors retain: (1) all proprietary rights other than copyright; (2) re-use of all or part of the above paper in their other work; (3) right to reproduce or authorize others to reproduce the above paper for authors' personal use or for company use if the source and JSEE's copyright notice is indicated, and if the reproduction is not made for the purpose of sale.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of JSEE and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

The journal is committed to maintaining a high level of integrity in the content published. All parties involved in the publication process including, authors, editors and reviewers must agree to the following ethical behaviors:
Authors of a submitted manuscript should ensure that it is original and has not been published elsewhere. It should be written in good English with sufficient information and suitable citations. A duplicate of submission is not allowed. Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, a copyright transfer agreement is to be signed by the corresponding author and submitted to the Managing Editor. The authors of published articles are solely responsible for the content of their papers, including any scientific mistakes or plagiarism issue.
A "double-blind" peer review process is followed in JSEE meaning that for a particular manuscript, the names of the authors and reviewers are kept mutually exclusively confidential. The editors are responsible for ensuring that the peer review process is fair and done in a timely manner. Once a manuscript has been submitted to JSEE, the Managing Editor will be responsible for checking that it is relevant to the scope of the journal and the topics covered. If the manuscript complies with the scope and meets the basic requirements of the journal, it will be sent for review by a Subject Editor selected by the Managing Editor. Two reviewers with relevant expertise and no conflicts of interest with the authors of the manuscript will be selected by the Subject Editor. Reviewers should assist Subject Editors in making proper decisions as well as provide advice in case of possible misconduct, including, plagiarism, improper manipulation of data, duplicate submission, etc. Reviewers should inform authors how to improve their manuscripts. Any reviewed manuscript is to be treated in a confidential manner.
A manuscript will be accepted for publication, or rejected, in accordance with the review results. In case of dubious results, a third reviewer may be invited to evaluate the manuscript. Subject Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding publication. This is to be informed to the managing editor who will then inform the authors accordingly and oversee copyright transfer agreement. JSEE will only accepts original research articles, including review papers that have not been published elsewhere.
If plagiarism is observed, the editors will immediately inform the authors of the rejection. If plagiarism is proven after publication, the article will be retracted from the journal and the authors informed accordingly. A record of plagiarism is kept in the database of the journal.
